Refund Policy

Tattvajignasa is a free, not-for-profit Vedānta study platform operated by Adhyatma Prachara Sevashramam, Rayadurgam. The Service itself does not charge users; the only payments processed are voluntary donations in support of hosting, infrastructure, and the ongoing translation work of Shankara Vedanta Granthamala.
Summary: Voluntary donations are non-refundable in the ordinary course. We will, however, refund a donation that was made by genuine mistake (wrong amount, duplicate charge, technical error) provided the request is made within 7 days of the transaction.
1. When a Refund May Be Granted
We will consider a refund request in the following situations:
- Duplicate or multiple charges for the same intended donation caused by network or gateway error.
- Demonstrably incorrect amount entered (e.g. ₹50,000 entered in place of ₹500), supported by a written explanation.
- Fraudulent or unauthorised transaction on the donor's payment instrument, reported within 7 days.
- Technical failure on our side where the donation was processed but a payment confirmation was not generated.
2. When a Refund Will Not Be Granted
- Where the donor has simply changed their mind after a successful donation.
- Where the request is made more than 7 days after the transaction.
- Where the donation has already been allocated to and consumed by operational expenditure (hosting, publication printing, etc.).
3. How to Request a Refund
Send a refund request by email to support@tattvajignasa.in or by phone to +91 90300 76857 within 7 days of the donation, including:
- Razorpay payment ID (or UPI reference number),
- Date and amount of the donation,
- Name and contact number of the donor,
- A brief description of the reason for the request.
4. Processing Timeline
Approved refunds are initiated within 3–5 working days of approval and are credited back to the original payment instrument. The bank or card issuer may take an additional 5–10 working days to reflect the credit in the donor's account, depending on the payment method.
5. Refund Mode
Refunds are issued only to the original payment source used for the donation (UPI handle, debit/credit card, net-banking account). Refunds to a third party or to an alternative instrument are not permitted.
6. Disputes & Grievances
If you are not satisfied with a refund decision, you may escalate the matter to our Grievance Officer (see Privacy Policy > Section 8) or directly to Razorpay support for chargeback under their terms.
